What is unique about today is that Earth will sit closer to the Sun than at any other day in 2023. As a result the Sun will today appear as large as it ever gets in the sky. – via Forbes.com

Happy New Year !!! 2023 🎉

*hum* , posting is slow after a recent update to PHP and some plugins that included a cache plugin version update … going to clear the cache and see if that speeds things up.
… Yep! That seems to have worked … Got the idea from this post … Will post some more and see if the fix lasts 🤞

I was getting an alert in the WordPress dashboard that I needed to update my PHP version.
I looked at my server config and it was the correct version, so I needed to see how to have my install recognize the server’s php version.
Found two articles that led me to a fix … I needed to edit my .htaccess file and update the php version … I made an update similar to what is described in these articles where I updated the AddHandler application/<php version> to the matching php version on the server.

The sun is just a little bit closer in Earth’s sky right now.
Earth is at its closest to the sun Tuesday (Jan. 4) in its 365.25-day journey. This milestone, called perihelion, coincidentally happens near the start of the Gregorian calendar year observed by much of the world, including in North America. – via Space.com
Interesting, last year Perihelion Day was on January 2, 2021.

To paraphrase the classic New Year’s song,
“For auld lang syne, my dear
For auld lang syne
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet …”
and have a 2021 with less tears! Here’s to the start of a better new year.
